| Explanation | In the Service Dominant logic of the 21st century, a service provider produces a service. Therefore, in service management, the service is the product of the service provider. The goods component of this service is often still called 'product'. In traditional Goods-Dominant logic of the previous century, the product was the goods you produced. In Goods-Dominant logic, 'service' was merely after-sales support. In USM, the term 'product' is only used for what the service provider produces: the service. |
